Murrysville Dek Hockey League
Information and Fall Schedule and Week 1 Results
The Murrysville Dek Hockey League enters Week 2 on its Summer Session. More than 160 players participate in the Chipmunk Division (Ages 6 and under), Penguin Division (Ages 7-9) and Beaver Division (Ages 10-12) in developmental and competitive Dek Hockey. Murrysville Dek Hockey League – Fall 2007 Week 1 Results

Beaver Division
Beaver Green 2 Beaver Black 3 Beaver
Highlights: Beaver Black braved the elements and a very stingy Beaver Green defense to squeak out a 3-2 victory in Beaver Division play. Kelton Black scored on a breakaway with 8:58 to play for the game winner and great goaltending by Tyler Watson made in stand up. Ryan Watson and Jamie Mauro scored for Black, while Nick Naret scored twice for Green.

Penguin Division
Penguin Gold 1 Penguin Blue 4 Penguin
Highlights: Coach Collette continued his winning ways in the Penguin Division as Penguin Blue raced to a 4-0 lead and captured a 4-1 victory over a very good Penguin Gold squad. Rookie goaltender Colton DeBiase stopped several Gold chances including a couple of breakaways, while the Blue offense was led by Ryan Collette with a pair of goals and singles by Dustyn Perrin and Tanner Flock. Tyler Watson scored the lone goal for Gold.

Penguin Black 3 Penguin Green 3 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Black and Green traded goals and fought to a 3-3 tie in their Penguin opener at the Murrysville Dek. David Soltesz scored twice and Justin Gismondi another and Brandon Meszar, Kyle Novak and Noah Mazur scored for Black. Both teams received excellent goaltending efforts from Green’s Danny Soltesz and Black’s Mikayla Durkoske.

Penguin Red 7 Penguin White 1 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Red came storming out the gates with an offensive flurry scoring 4 times in the opening period and cruised to a 7-1 victory over Penguin White. Justin Lewis led the attack with a hat trick and two assists, while Austin Shick, Jacob Swick, Nick Caretta and Michael Smith added to the offense and Maxx Mastermonico stoned the White offense only yielding a goal to Joe Goldstein.

Penguin 7 = Gray 10 Penguin 8 = Purple 1 Penguin
Highlights: Coach Thad Henry’s Summer Season drought after a championship season in the Penguin Division in the Spring resulted in the first choice overall in the Penguin League draft and coach Henry’s pick paid immediate dividends as former Penguin League scoring champions Jamie Mauro scored the games first six goals of seven on the afternoon to lead Penguin Gray to a 10-1 victory over Penguin Purple. Nick Gismondi scored twice and Brady Geyer chipped another and goaltender Zach Henry only yield a goal to BryanPatrick Farren in the third period.
