High School Bomb Scare Nonsense
I read this in the Trib, but had to post something here. The Norwin High School Student Body was made to empty their lockers so the school could be searched over the weekend for a bomb that was threatened with a message in a bathroom stall. Do you really think it was wise to have the kids doing this? What if there really was a bomb and by moving it a student set it off? Or better yet what if some unsuspecting kid took it home with them? These threats are becoming way too common in the area lately. I guess the kids figure it's an easy way out of school. Not at Norwin, they make the kids search for the bomb themselves. Does no one else find that scary? I figured a bomb threat would require 1) Touch nothing 2) Get out ASAP 3) Let the proper authorities do what they need to do in such an event.
I asked my kid how school was, he said okay and oh yeah we had to empty our lockers because of a bomb threat. That will get your attention. I JUST FEEL IT COULD HAVE BEEN HANDLED BETTER, ANYBODY ELSE THINK SO TOO?

I agree, my daughter came home and simply stated "oh yeah, we have a bomb threat". That was on Thursday, yet I received nothing from Norwin School District regarding any bomb threat until Monday After the fact, unless you include my daughter coming home with her entire locker, in the rain, arms full and backpack broken. I think at the very least a notice should have went home immediately informing us of the threat and what they were doing about it.
IN REALITY THE BOMB THREAT WAS TOLD TO ME ON TUESDAY.THEN APARENTLY THEY SCHOOL DIDN'T TAKE IT SERIUS BECAUSE IT WAS ERASED OFF THE WALL.THE CHILDREN HAD TO GO TO THE STADIUM (FREEZING COLD OUTSIDE)WHILE THE SCHOOL WAS LOOKED OVER.THEN MY KIDS WERE HOME LATE AND I ASKED WHY.THEY SAY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS BLOCKING THE BUSSES SO THEY COULDN'T MOVE.I WAS SO ANGRY AT THE SCHOOL THAT WEEK AND TOLD THEM THAT THE PARENTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT A LETTER HOME ABOUT THE SITUATION.IF THEY HAD THE PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF ON FRIDAY,WHY WERE THEY SEARCHING THE SCHOOL ON SUNDAY.I TOLD MY KIDS THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL MONDAY.ONE OF THE KIDS THAT TEXT MY DAUGHTER SAID THEY PATTED THE KIDS DOWN AS THEY CAME IN THE SCHOOL.WHAT WERE THEY SO WORRIED ABOUT IF IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF?????
