"When past bearing has our grief, God our Lord sends relief"…is one of the lines from Humperdinck's opera, Hänsel and Gretel and is one of the messages of his version of the well known tale. It’s our hope that many of you will come see our musical production. I have noticed that many children have not yet heard the story so perhaps you will bring them.

Because the poignancy of the story of Hänsel and Gretel is still felt today, Youngtimers will be holding a food drive in conjunction with this production. The drive will go to support the Sonshine Kitchen in McKeesport. We Youngtimers are hoping that many will want to come see our production and at the same time lend a helping hand to those who are in need. It's our vision that those volunteers participating in Youngtimers’ productions will consider themselves philanthropists. Thus we starving artists are seeking to feed not only our own stomachs and souls but those of others as well.
