Additional Details about The Taffetas
"The Taffetas" is a musical comedy performed by six Norwin High School students, supported by a technical crew and production staff comprised of students. The four main characters are sisters, played by Erika Pealstrom, Mandie Russak, Brett Czekaj, and Amber Williams. The pianist is Rachel Meister who plays their cousin, and Bill Boyer plays the part of the announcer. Cory Stoken is the understudy for the part of the announcer and will be joining The Taffetas in future performances.
The premise is that the quartet is making their television debut, performing songs from the 1950s on a variety program like The Ed Sullivan Show. This show was performed in Connellsville at the annual Pennsylvania International Thespian Society conference competition on December 2, 2006. THEIR PERFORMANCE WON FIRST PLACE IN THE STATE!
They are now working hard to raise funds to get this show -- including the technical crew and all props and equipment used in the show -- to the national competition that will be held June 25-30th at the 2007 Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska.
ONLY TEN HIGH SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE ARE INVITED TO COMPETE FOR THE NATIONAL TITLE IN THE MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCES!
