Newport-Wakulik

Jay and Judy Newport announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin of Penn Trafford, to Chris Wakulik, son of George and Teri Wakulik of Canonsburg.

The future bride is a graduate of Penn-Trafford High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her degree in psychology and elementary education. She is pursuing her master's degree in elementary education.

The future bridegroom is a graduate of Canonsburg High School. Chris is employed at Bayer as an IT analyst.

The couple is planning a July 12 wedding in Pittsburgh.

Holtz-Young

Wendy and Peter Redington of Penn Hills and Dan and Terry Holtz of Oakmont announce the engagement of their children, Gretchen Renee Holtz to Justin Andrew Young.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Penn Hills High School and a 2002 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education.

Gretchen lives in Fredericksburg, Va., where she teaches sixth-grade language arts. She is pursuing a master's degree at George Mason University.

The future bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of Madison County High School and a 2003 graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, where he received his bachelor of arts degree in geography and a bachelor of science in geology.

Justin is employed as a deputy sheriff in Spotsylvania, Va.

The couple is planning a May 2008 wedding in Pittsburgh.
