Norwin Aqua Club swimmers participated in the St. Patrick's Day Invitational hosted by West Mifflin on March 15 and 15.
Norwin finished second overall. Placing were:
8-and-under division: Breanna Ford, 7, was named Most Improved Swimmer and took first in 50 breast, 25 fly, 50 back, 100 free, 100 IM, 50 free, 25 back, 50 fly, 25 breast and 200 free; Jacob Harrison, 8, was third in 25 fly, 50 back; Josh Ligus, 8, was third in 25 breast.
9-10 division: Sonnet Myers, 10, first in 200 free, 100 back, second in 50 back, 50 free, third in 100 IM; Hannah Rusinko, 9, second in 200 free, third in 50 back, 50 fly, 100 back; Taylor Shirley, 10, was awarded the High Point Award and took first in 100 breast, second in 100 back, 100 IM, and third in 50 breast, 200 free; Eric Booth, 10, third in 200 free, 50 fly.
11-12 division: Courteney Hubert, 11, third in 50 back; Kathryn Painter, second in 50 breast, 100 fly, 50 back, 100 IM, 200 free, 100 free, 50 fly, 100 back, 50 free, 100 breast.
13-and-over division: Maria Palmquist, 13, second in 100 fly, third in 100 back, 200 fly; Zach Ligus, 14, first in 100 free, 200 free, second in 200 back, 50 free, 200 fly, third in 100 breast, 100 fly, 200 IM, 100 back, 200 breast.
Relays that earned first place included: girls 9-10 200 fly of Sonnet Myers, Hannah Rusinko, Emily Leverich, Taylor Shirley; girls 9-10 200 breast of Sonnet Myers, Hannah Rusinko, Emily Leverich, Taylor Shirley; girls 9-10 200 back of Sonnet Myers, Emily Leverich, Taylor Shirley, Hannah Rusinko; girls 13-and-over 200 back of Karly Painter, Darian Baker, Jenna Farina, Maria Palmquist; and girls 9-10 200 free of Hannah Rusinko, Emily Leverich, Sonnet Myers, Taylor Shirley.
Legion tryout
Tryouts for the Irwin American Legion team will begin this weekend for Norwin School District students in grades nine through 12.
Players must make at least one tryout to be eligible to play.
Tryouts will be held on Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m. at Norwin High School: Sunday, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., at the Baseball Academy of Norwin; April 5, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Baseball Academy of Norwin; and April 6, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the high school.

Senior softball
Norwin Senior Softball Association will hold sign-ups and practice April 2 and 9 at the PAL complex in Shafton, at 9 a.m.
The league is for men and women ages 55 and older. Cost is $10 and includes a hat and T-shirt.

Golf outing
The University of Pitts-burgh at Greensburg will host its annual golf outing to benefit the alumni association athletics president's scholarship on June 20 at Cherry Creek Golf Club, beginning at 10 a.m.
Cost is $100 per golfer, which includes a DeNunzio's catered dinner.

QB camp
The Quarterback Camp in the Bubble and Tom Alper's Kicking Academy will conduct camps at the Robert Morris University Bubble on Neville Island on April 5, from 6.45 to 9.45 p.m.
These camps are for quarterbacks, place-kickers, punters and long snappers in grades six to 12.
