Troop honors five Eagle Scouts

Boy Scout Troop 250 of North Huntingdon recognized five members who were awarded the rank ofEagle Scout at a ceremony and banquet at Penns Woods Civic Association earlier this year.

• Nicholas Waugh, son of Wendy and Bill Waugh of North Huntingdon is a sophomore at Norwin High School.

Nick removed bushes and planted 32 dogwood trees in honor or memory of the church congregation at Christ United Methodist Church of North Huntingdon.He has held various positions in the troop including patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, troop librarian and Order of the Arrow representative.

Nick has earned 26 merit badges. He isa Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

• Jacob Feryus, son of Cathy and Jeffrey Feryus of North Huntingdon, is a junior at Norwin High School.

Jake built a furnace room at Penn's Woods United Methodist Church of North Huntingdon, the troop sponsor. He has held a variety of positions in the troop including senior patrol leader, patrol leader and assistant patrol leader and has earned 23 merit badges.

Jake is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.

• Edward Gray, son of Patty and Ed Gray of North Huntingdon, is a sophomore at Norwin High School.

Ed's project was to wash sand and stain picnic tables at Campbell's Court Community Park in North Huntingdon. He has held various positions in the troop including assistant patrol leader and has earned 36 merit badges.

Ed is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

• Sean Grivna, son of Kay and Mark Grivna of North Huntingdon, is a sophomore at Norwin High School.

Sean's project was to remove and replacea cement patio at Penn's Wood United Methodist Church of North Huntingdon, the troop sponsor.He has held a variety of positions in the troop including patrol leader and earned 21 merit badges.

Sean is an Ordeal member of the Order of the Arrow.

• Brenden Hondal, son of Cindy and Tim Hondal of North Huntingdon, is a senior at Norwin High School.

Brenden's service project was to construct a foot bridge at Indian Lake Park in North Huntingdon.This will be part of a new walkingtrail. He has earned 27 merit badges.

Brenden plans to join the Army Reserve after graduation this June.
