Is s huge success story about a man who has a self inflected handicap--that he is learning to live with. In his sorrow and self pity, he grows ever more loving to those around when he meets up with a 12 year old girl left in his charge.

The movie is a view into societies perceptions about handicapped people, and how their ill defined beliefs are forced onto the disabled. Causing emotional, economical, and physical harm--by creating mountains for us to overcome almost daily.
