The Norwin softball team suffered two more defeats last week to fall to 3-13 overall and 3-11 in Section 1-AAAA.

The Lady Knights were shut out by Alexa Bryson and the Latrobe Lady Wildcats twice, 11-0 in five innings and 3-0 in game two of the doubleheader. They also dropped a 2-1 decision to Hempfield Area in eight innings on senior day.

Against Latrobe, Bryson threw two strong games allowing just two hits on the day. She tossed a no-hitter in game one and went 3 for 3 at the plate. In game two, she allowed two hits. Courtney Morton suffered both losses on the mound.

Then, on Thursday, Norwin battled the Lady Spartans to extra innings, but Hempfield Area pitcher T'nia Falbo drove in the winning run with a double to edge the Lady Knights.

Recognized prior to the contest were Norwin seniors Bree Acalotto, Nicole Boehm, Lauren Dodd, Ashley Ginardi, Lisa Gulasy, Jessica Guzewicz and Jackie Spoljarick.

Norwin will wrap up the season today, Thursday, at home against McKeesport Area in a nonsection game at 4 p.m.
