There's snow time like Saturday to head out to Boyce Park ski area in Plum Borough.

This weekend is the first time this winter that it's been cold enough to fire up the snowmakers. Snow enthusiasts can ski or check out the new snow tubing area, new magic carpet lifts and upgrades to the existing chairlifts.

The ski area was closed last year for a $1 million renovation project.

Weekend hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 5 to 10:30 p.m. The area is open from 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday.
