Four members of the Norwin boys tennis team competed last week in the Section 1-AAA doubles tournament.

The tandem of seniors Jordan Hantz and Chris Kukic lost in the first round to eventual finalists Matt Kitson and Guneet Sahota of Franklin Regional, 10-1.

The Knights duo of senior Phil Gigliotti and junior Josh Newton fell in the first round to the third place finishers, Matt Hudak and John Colley from Penn-Trafford, 10-4.

Franklin Regional's Kevin Carter and Osman Khwaja defeated their teammates in the finals to earn the section doubles championship.

Khwaja also won the section singles crown.

The Franklin Regional pair and P-T's top duo will compete in WPIAL doubles today, Thursday, at North Allegheny.
