Lucy "Betty" Coyne
Cafeteria worker at Hartford Heights Elementary
Lucy "Betty" Rukenbrod Coyne, 88, of North Huntingdon, died March 29, 2008, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1919, in North Braddock, she was the daughter of John Kneila and Irene Hilder Rogers Rukenbrod.
Prior to retirement, she was a cafeteria worker at Hartford Heights Elementary School for 30 years. Mrs. Coyne was a member of Miller United Methodist Church in North Versailles, the Women's Society of Christian Service and Degree of Honor, and she volunteered at Hartford Heights School library for many years.
She is survived by sons, George (Phyllis) Coyne Jr. of Phillipsburg, John (Cindy) Coyne of North Huntingdon, Robert Coyne and his fiancee, Terrie Rukenbrod, of Conway, S.C., and Gary (Donna) Coyne of North Huntingdon; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at Vincent V. Rodgers Funeral Home, Irwin. A service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
Ernest Racey
Westinghouse employee
Ernest W. Racey, 95, of Westmoreland City, died March 30, 2008, in Hempfield Manor.
Born May 12, 1912, in Somerset County, he was a son of Joseph and Mary Jane Barndt Racey.
He retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh, after 36 years of service. Mr. Racey was a member of Primitive Methodist Church, Westmoreland City.
Surviving are his wife of more than 49 years, Zeda Zorn Racey; children, James (Cathy) Racey of Youngwood, Alice Racey of North Huntingdon, Carol (Bob) Sosinski of Claridge and Donald (Robin Stern) Bittner of Lodi, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Racey; and siblings, Erma Fritz, Betty Lannin, and Lloyd, Park, Guy, Charlie, and Tom and Ethel Racey.
Friends were received at William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin, where a service was held with the Rev. Bernard Murphy officiating. Interment was at Brush Creek Cemetery, Hempfield Town-ship.
Shirley Varrati

Shirley A. Griffith Varrati, 70, of North Huntingdon, died March 28, 2008.
Surviving are her husband, John Varrati; her children, Jim Cook of North Huntingdon, Kathy Osborne of Gibsonia and Sean Varrati of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Kayla, Jimmy, Bailey and Paige; and a brother, James Griffith.
Preceding her in death were her son, William Cook Jr.; and siblings, Erma Penfield, Charles Griffith, Otis Yeager, Mildred Hosack and Ruth Ward.

Virginia Stanoszek
Member of ceramic club
Virginia Mae Knox Stanoszek, 83, of Greensburg, formerly of North Huntingdon, died March 24, 2008, in Greensburg Care Center.
Born Sept. 6, 1924, in Duquesne, she was a daughter of Alvin and Mary Ference Knox.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. Mrs. Stanoszek enjoyed doing ceramics and was a member of the former Adair's Ceramic Club in North Huntingdon.
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Henry George Stanoszek; five children, Duane (Sharon) Stanoszek of North Huntingdon, Jennifer (Scott) Kallenborn, Sara Stanoszek; Gail (Merrill) Stanoszek Brant of Latrobe, Melissa (James) Rugh, David (Michelle) Brant, Gary Stanoszek of North Huntingdon, Paul (Shan) Stanoszek of North Huntingdon and David (Lucy) Stanoszek of Apollo; two brothers, Walter and Alvin Knox; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ethel Palla and Audrey Knox.

Clyde Marker
Former pattern maker
Clyde William Marker, 71, of North Huntingdon, formerly of McKeesport, died March 29, 2008.
Born Feb. 17, 1937, in Washington County, he was a son of George Sr. and Katherine Carlson Marker.
He was the co-owner of George Marker and Sons boiler repair and fabrication facility. Mr. Marker formerly was employed as a pattern maker at American Standard in McKeesport, Boeing aircraft in Seattle and as an independent trucker. He was a member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church and the West Mifflin Elks.
His hobbies included carpentry, hunting and golfing, and he was an avid boater who raced hydroplanes.
Surviving are his wife, Joy Marker; a son, Ross Marker of Greenock; a stepson, Dan Bell of North Huntingdon; a brother, Alan Marker; and three grandchildren.
Private arrangements were handled by James W. Shirley Funeral Home, North Huntingdon.
Virginia Kobulnicky
Nurse's aide
Virginia L. Kobulnicky, 68, of Butler Township, formerly of North Huntingdon, died March 28, 2008, at Sunnyview Home in Butler Township.
Born Dec. 26, 1939, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of Michael and Zelma Sobeck. Before her retirement, she was employed by VNA as a nurse's aide.
She is survived by a son, John and his wife, Kim, of West Mifflin; four daughters, Patricia LaChance of Saxonburg, Anna Beck and her husband, James, and Rhonda Jenks, all of Butler, and Carolyn Kobulnicky of Saxonburg; three brothers, Michael, Joseph and Butch Sobeck; two sisters, Dorothy Sopko and Veronica Lynn; and 10 grandchildren.
Her daughter, Tamara Kobulnicky, preceded her in death.

Charles Benish

Charles Mark Benish, 74, of Irwin, died March 26, 2008, at home.
Born March 27, 1933, in Hahntown, he was a son of Samuel and Rose Brivec Benish.
Before retirement, he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Benish was an Army veteran. He was a member of New Stanton Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Palangio Benish; a son, Charles Mark Benish of Herminie; and a daughter, Kelly Chicknoski and her husband, Stephen, of Baltimore, Md.
Friends were received at Vincent V. Rodgers Funeral Home, Irwin. Interment was at Irwin Union Cemetery.

Della DeSantis Ipnar, 92, a resident of Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon, formerly of Export, died March 30, 2008.
Born Oct. 15, 1915, she was a daughter of Nicola and Anna DeSantis.
Mrs. Ipnar was a retired employee of Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. She was a former member of St. Mary Church, Export, and a current member of Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ipnar; a brother, William DeSantis; a sister, Nellie Visnick; and a nephew, Robert DeSantis.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Anna DeSantis of Export; and nieces and nephews, William DeSantis, Richard DeSantis, Barbara DeSantis and Nancy Nicholas.

Robert M. Moffat, 94, of Mentor, Ohio, formerly of North Huntingdon, died March 30, 2008,
Born Oct. 30, 1913, in Duquesne, he was the son of John and Rose Moffat.
Before his retirement, he was a supervisor with U.S. Steel. Mr. Moffat was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Bost Moffat; three brothers and a sister.
Surviving are his son, Robert M. Moffat and his wife, Helen, of Mentor, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia Starner and her husband, Charlie, of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Michael E. Chaplinsky, 43, of North Huntingdon, died March 25, 2008, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
Born May 3, 1964, in Philadelphia, he was a son of Michael Paul and Bertha Chiffens Chaplinsky. He was a self-employed owner of Comp U Medic, a computer repair service in North Huntingdon. Mr. Chaplinsky was a graduate of the Computer Learning Center in Philadelphia.
Surviving are a sister, Deborah Mannarino of Quakertown; a niece, Tina Mannarino; nephew, David Mannarino; and a friend, Lisa Uncapher of North Hunting-don and her family.

Jane D. Morgan Cieslewicz, 60, of Rillton, died March 27, 2008, at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland.
Born Aug. 19, 1947, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of Vance and Cecilia McClelland McCombs.
Mrs. Cieslewicz was employed as a cashier by Wal-Mart in Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Morgan; and her second husband, Joseph Cieslewicz.
Surviving are her daughter, Rhonda Morgan and her husband, Daniel Saversky, of Rillton; a brother, Vance McCombs Jr.; two sisters, Andrea Chojnacki and Elizabeth Kelly; and a grandson, Christopher Saversky.

Mary D. Ruffolo Monfredo, 65, of North Versailles, formerly of Braddock, died March 25, 2008.
She was the daughter of Joseph Ruffolo of North Huntingdon and the late Clara Welsh Ruffolo. Mrs. Monfredo was a retired employee of the West Virginia Division of Veteran Affairs, Pittsburgh.
She also is survived by her son, Shawn Bomar and his wife, Cheri, of Bethel Park; her daughter, Danielle Kellerman and her fiance, Mark Slivka, of North Versailles; stepmother, Fern Ruffolo; siblings, Anthony Tryzna, Joseph Ruffolo, Jackie Whitlow, Robert Ruffolo, Jeannie Gulledge, Doug Ruffolo and Mike Ruffolo; and grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas and Isabella.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Monfredo; siblings, Geraldine Andzelik and John Ruffolo; and grandchildren, Abigail Bomar and Mark Slivka Jr.

Kevin Parker

Kevin M. Parker, 48, of North Huntingdon, died March 30, 2008.
Born July 18, 1959, in Greensburg, he was a son of Kenneth Sr. and Frances Stroncheck Parker. He was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1977.
Surviving are his children, Ryan and Rachel Parker; brothers Kenneth (Katie) Parker Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio, and James Parker of North Huntingdon; a niece, Marcie Elliot; grandnephew, Michael Elliot; and grandnieces, Alexiss and Taylor Elliott.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at William Snyder Funeral Home, Irwin, where a service will follow at 9 p.m.
James Fiume
Track foreman
James Fiume, 72, of Rillton, died March 30, 2008.
Born July 10, 1935, in Rillton, he was a son of Anthony and Mary Vecchio Fiume.
He was a retired track foreman for McKeesport Connecting Railroad. Mr. Fiume was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed country music and country music videos, was an avid Steelers fan and loved his garden especially sharing the vegetables and fruits with neighbors and friends.
Surviving are his children, James (Connie) Fiume of Rillton, Raymond Fiume and his companion, Kim, of Jeannette, Mary (Mike) Pratt of Mt. Airy, Md., and Susan McLay of West Newton; a grandson, Matthew Pratt; former wife and friend, Janet Fiume; and siblings, Mary Hyatt, Louise Beckwith, Jenny Ogg, Pauline Shaffer, Teresa Mosch, Rose Wingo, Josephine Sardinas, Margaret Pavsek and Anthony Fiume.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Fiume Sr.
