Pony baseball
• In opening day action, Drew Menas Restaurant edged Irwin Moose, 7-3.
A speedy Irwin Moose team unnerved rookie pitcher Zack Menas and jumped to a 4-1 lead.RBI hits by Nathan Kocher and Luke Haines evened the score at four in the fourth inning. Dominic Ammon's game-winning RBI double in the fifth and three late tallies in the sixth proved too much for Irwin Moose.Seven strikeouts by Max Redovan in the final three innings clinched the win for Drew Menas Rastaurant.
Hosthabitat.com battled back from a six-run deficit to take a four-run lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. The Quackers mounted a thrilling comeback behind clutch hits from Nathan Kremer and Nathan Hursh.
After tying the score and loading the bases, Hosthabitat.com pitcher Tom Dittman snuffed the rally, and the game ended tied due to time restraints.
Hosthabitat.com was led by Matt Pasternak and Kevin Miklos with two hits apiece. Kremer had two hits, including a double, and Hursh had three hits, including a triple for the Quackers.
Mustang baseball
• Gdovic's Landscape Diamondbacks bettered Duncan Financial Group Phillies, 9-2, on April 26. Brendan Poe delivered a clutch two-out hit to lead the DBacks in a come-from-behind victory. Nathan Duncan swatted two hits for the Phillies.
Pinto baseball
• The Quest Diagnostics Athletics defeated Flynn's Tire & Auto Service Blue Jays, 15-10, on opening day, April 26.
The Athletics were led by Caleb Smith, who was 4 for 4, Matt Schiach, who had three doubles and scored two runs, and Michael Fry, who scored three runs.
The Blue Jays were paced by Brady Sigut, who had three hits and scored four runs, Josh Nelson, who scored three runs, and Scott Yurek, who made an outstanding catch in centerfield.
• District Judge Douglas Weimer Jr. Rangers beat the Wayne Homes Red Sox on April 26, 7-1.
Both teams played a solid defensive game on opening day. The Rangers were led by Andrew Schon, who went 3 for 4 with three runs scored. Tanner Mahofski went 4 for 4 with two runs scored.
The Red Sox were paced by Kyle Chismar, who went 2 for 3 with a run scored and Evan Kochasic, who went 3 for 3.
• On April 27, Larimer VFD Rays defeated Wayne Homes Red Sox, 12-4.
Larimer VFD Rays won this twilight game on the strength of Tyler Queen's 4 for 5 night with four runs scored, Joey Harris and Zach Zydel going 4 for 4 at the plate, and Mike Gongaware's three runs scored.
For the Wayne Homes Red Sox, Billy Kerston and Kyle Chismar each went 3 for 3, and Andrew Martin had several fine defensive stops.
• Flynn's Tire & Auto Service Blue Jays edged Winchester Room Royals, 9-8, on April 27. The Royals jumped out to an early lead in this exhibition game, but the Blue Jays were able to chip away and took their first lead on Brian Westover's walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Royals were led by Jason Bevington, Brock Dieter and Chris Wallace with four hits
each. Jaret Jarosz chipped in with three hits. The Blue Jays got four hits each from Brady Sigut and Ben Krygowski. Brian Westover and Ryan Clair each collected three hits.
Powder puff softball
• On April 26, Irwin Photo Lab edged Level Green Plumbing, 11-10. Irwin Photo
Lab pulled it out by one run before Mother Nature stopped play for the day. MVPs were Ansley McCracken (Level Green Plumbing) and Lauren Hohman (Irwin Photo Lab).
• C. Harper Auto Group Bees edged Fix's Auto Body, 10-9, on April 26.
Anastasia Vertes received the game ball for Fix's Auto Body. Norah O'Brien hit in the winning run for C. Harper Auto Group.
• Italian Miners Society narrowly defeated St. Joseph's Polish Club, 2-1, on April 26.
Emma Meyer, Madyson Dembowski and Savannah Summerville were stars for the
Italian Miners Society, with Meyer receiving the game ball.
Junior softball
• On April 26, S&A Homes earned a 15-6 win over Shear Perfection.
Taylor Jones hit a home run and turned a double play, and Olivia Nama hit a triple for the winning team. Stephanie Boswell hit a double and had an RBI, while Sheri Kevana hit a double for Shear Perfection.
• Toona Auto Paint got the best of Baierl Acura, 12-9, on April 27.
Senior softball
• Nancy's Family Hair Designs beat Campbell's Sunoco, 23-13, on April 26. Jessica Rae went 4 for 4 with two doubles for Nancy's Family Hair Designs. Kirstie Ansell had the game-winning triple. Kara Gromicko threw a complete game. Elizabeth Rhodes went 4 for 5 for Campbell's.
• K-Vays Restaurant exploded for a 25-5 win over Victoria Bauer Accessories on April 27. Allison Marianni was the winning pitcher. Hope Yuhas hit a triple, and Hailee Troya hit two doubles in defeat.
