Police continue search for armed robber

North Huntingdon Township police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a 68-year-old female and her 14-year-old grandson.

On the afternoon of March 17, police responded to Mark Haven Apartment on Robbins Station Road after a male with a handgun entered a secure apartment building.

The suspect followed the victims down the hallway of the building, forced his way into the victim's apartment with the gun drawn and demanded money or pills.

The suspect pointed the gun at the back of the head of the 14-year-old. A physical altercation ensued with the suspect attempting to take the grandmother's purse from her shoulder.

The robber was seen fleeing from the apartment complex on foot, but he was later seen getting into a gray or brown Honda Civic.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5-feet 10-inches with a medium build, wearing all black clothing with dark sunglasses and a black Pittsburgh Steelers hat.
