'Sweetheart' spaghetti dinner slated at First UM Church
First United Methodist Church in Irwin is giving people who forgot their valentine last week a chance to shine.
A Sweetheart Spaghetti Dinner will be served Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church, Oak and Third streets in Irwin. Large portions are $6 and small are $4.
The menu features spaghetti, homemade meatballs, salad, bread and butter, cake and beverage.
Wild game dinner
The annual Wild Game dinner at Norwin Alliance Church in North Huntingdon this year will feature speaker Craig Wolfley, former Steelers offensive lineman and current sideline game-time reporter for WDVE-FM.
The evening on Feb. 29 will begin at 6:30 with the doors opening a half-hour before. An event will include a sampling dinner of the "catches" of the year (domesticated foods also) and a talk by Wolfley.

Fishermen music
The Fishermen Quartet will perform in concert on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Ardara United Presbyterian Church, 3380 Nehrig Hill Road, off Route 993.
The all-male quartet will fill the evening with music and ministry. An offering will be taken.
Mid-week service
The Wednesday noon Lenten services, sponsored by the Men's Prayer Fellowship and hosted by First United Church of Christ in Irwin, continues.
The theme of this year's services is "Questions Asked of Jesus."
The community is invited to be part of the program each week. The church is at 400 Main St.
The service begins at 11:30 a.m. with 30 minutes of hymn singing, led by the Rev. Bernard Murphy with piano accompaniment provided by J.R. Caughron.
On Feb. 27, Thomas St. Clair will speak on "Who's Wife in the Resurrection?" Norma Fowkes will provide special music.
Lenten meals
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon will hold fish fries every Friday until March 21 from 4 to 7 p.m.
Meals include fish dinners, sandwiches, ala carte items and homemade desserts.

St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon: Dinner is served from 4 to 7 p.m. Takeout can be ordered ahead by calling 724-863-7392.
Fish, crab cakes and shrimp meals or a la carte are served as well as ethnic sides like haluski and pierogi. Sampler meals cost $7 and a dinner runs $6.50. Homemade pierogi are 50 cents each of $5 per dozen.
